Google Chrome Becomes the World’s Top Browser
Finally, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer has been surpassed by Google’s Chrome. Now, Google Chrome is the most-used web browser in the world according to StatCounter. This time the position is here to stay, as previously Google Chrome became number one only for a few times only to get back to the second position. About 31.88% of the web traffic comes from Google Chrome and 31.47% comes from the Internet Explorer.
For the past few weeks, the trend for Google Chrome has been consistent which has determined its position firmed at the top. Although for North America Internet Explorer is still the first choice as a web browser, but for South America, Google Chrome fares better. The experts believe that being a default web browser in Windows machines, which makes 90% of the world’s computers the Internet Explorer is enjoying this status. Had it not been the case, clearly Internet Explorer would have not been there. The day this changes, Internet Explorer will be left far behind.
Till Internet Explorer 10 comes to market later this year, Google Chrome is expected to have a longer time on the top than before. Many users however still continue to prefer Google Chrome because it tends to allow usage of other Google products more easily. But if the survey is changed from that conducted by StatCounter to that of Net Applications, the result is that Google Chrome with 19% is at number three, behind Internet Explorer at 54% and Mozilla Firefox at 20%.
