Facebook Might Disappear by 2020 According to an Analyst
When at peak, nothing seems to come in the way. Everything appears tiny and comparatively less. For Facebook amongst other social networks, this applies more than ever. With the social network reaching around a billion users and being the world’s largest, end days seem too far away. But for the social media analyst Eric Jackson, the founder of the investment firm Ironfire Capital, this is not the case.
He thinks that Facebook will disappear by 2020, which is just 8 years from now. Even after much hype and all the planning, going to the IPO too, Facebook will “disappear”. That is really some news. Some gossip and rumour to go around, but when it comes to mobile platform, Facebook has already facing troubled times. It is just the online world that kind of welcomes it. So for the other Facebook competitors out there and all those new startups of social networking, they can have a strong positive hope to see the light of day when they would reach heights, and might even go past Facebook.
Even Mark Zuckerberg has shown his concern over Facebook’s future as the new media is developing and changing every day and too fast. This is the reason why Facebook is entering into smartphone making, into Gaming and other things. Jackson compared Facebook’s future with that of Yahoo saying that ten years ago in 2000, Yahoo was considered the king of the internet and people never wondered that it has only five more years to live. However, Yahoo has not gone completely down as it still makes profit.
For Facebook, similar might become true, profits but not peak. The next area to capitalize on according to him is the mobile platform and Facebook is not good at it. After all a genius can work only in some of the areas and not in all the areas and this is something that makes Mark Zuckerberg and his group of founders just another in the line of many that came and went.
