Facebook Might Acquire Face.com Very Soon for Tens of Millions
It seems as though Facebook is obsessed with anything that says face and book, but especially face. It was rumoured that Facebook has an interest in acquiring face.com. Those rumours have come true. There are now many confirmed reports that say that Facebook is just about to acquire, face.com, which is a facial recognition tool. One source for this news is especially strong, the Israeli business publication, Calcalist, which has reported many such online businesses and their acquisitions that are based in Israel or are functioned by Israelis.
Both Facebook and face.com have a lot of Israeli-ness in it, not to be too nationalistic as they are also very global too. Face.com has received a lot of positive response from users as well as the business community, which is why Facebook has shown its interest in the site. Also, when it comes to Facebook, money is a plenty. Already a lot of people are talking about Facebook almost throwing away money with its $1 billion acquisition of Instagram. Now face.com will be acquired with tens of millions of dollars.
However, the decision for the final price tag is far from over. Both are in talks to decide just that. As soon as that would be finalized, the deal is done. So we can expect the news that says Facebook finally acquires face.com very soon. But still this acquisition report cannot be treated as official, despite Calcalist reporting it, which just does not report things without some air to it. Since Facebook has restrained itself from commenting on the report it considers to be a rumour, we don’t have an official version. Face.com also operates two photo apps on Facebook, Photo Finder and Photo Tagger, both very popular.
